MacParsley

The trial and buying MacParsley

MacParsley's trial has every feature. The only limit is that a library holds up to 10 meetings (meetings in Deleted Items don't count). There's no time limit.

When the library is full, imports stop at 10 and say what was left out, recording won't start, and meetings can't be put back from Deleted Items. A window offers to buy MacParsley or to enter a license key. If MacParsley notices a call while the library is full, it doesn't record it and tells you with a notification instead (no window pops up during your call). Nothing you have is locked: you can still open, search, edit, summarize, share and export every meeting, however many there are. To make room without buying, move meetings you don't need to Deleted Items: meetings there don't count.

Buying

Choose MacParsley → Buy MacParsley… (or Settings → General → License), and click Buy MacParsley…. That opens the checkout on Polar, the store that sells MacParsley. After you pay, Polar emails you a license key.

It's a one-time purchase with free updates for every version 1 release (1.1, 1.2 and so on). A future MacParsley 2 would be a separate purchase or upgrade; version 1 keeps working as it is, for as long as you like.

Entering your key

  1. Open MacParsley → Buy MacParsley… or Settings → General → License.
  2. Paste the key from the email and click Activate.

MacParsley checks the key with Polar and unlocks straight away. Your key and its activation are kept in your Mac's Keychain. MacParsley checks again about once a week; being offline doesn't end the license.

Using it on more than one Mac

One purchase lets you use MacParsley on 3 computers at the same time: enter the same key on each. To move it to a different Mac, open Settings → General → License on a Mac you no longer use and click Deactivate This Mac…. That frees the activation, so you can enter the same key on the other Mac. This Mac goes back to the trial; your meetings stay where they are.

If a key isn't accepted

  • "That license key wasn't found": check it against the email from Polar (copy and paste it rather than typing it).
  • "Already in use on as many Macs as it allows": deactivate it on a Mac you no longer use, or contact support.
  • "This key is for a different version of MacParsley": the key belongs to another major version. Use the key from your MacParsley 1 purchase, or contact support.
  • "Polar couldn't be reached": check your internet connection and try again.
