MacParsley

Searching

Click the Search meetings box in the toolbar, or press ⌘F to jump to it, and type. By default it looks in any text: titles, summaries and transcripts. The sidebar then shows just the meetings that match.

Quick search results

When you open a result:

  • the matching words are highlighted in the summary or transcript;
  • the view jumps to the first match, and a bar at the top shows how many matches there are with up and down arrows (also ⌘G for next and ⇧⌘G for previous);
  • if the meeting you're looking at already has a match, MacParsley stays in it rather than jumping to another.

Clear the box (the ×) to go back to the full library.

Choose Advanced Search in the toolbar, or press ⇧⌘F. Build a search from one or more conditions.

The Advanced Search window

Each condition after the first is joined to the one before it with AND or OR. AND is applied before OR, as in most search languages: A OR B AND C means A OR (B AND C). With no conditions, every meeting matches.

Press Search to run it; Reset starts over.

Save it as a smart folder

Press Save to name the search. It appears under Smart Folders in the sidebar and keeps itself up to date as meetings arrive. Rename, edit or delete a smart folder from its right-click menu.

Search by tag

The Filter by tag box at the bottom of the sidebar shows only meetings that carry the tags you click. It works together with the folders, quick search and smart folders. Clear removes the filter.

Tips

  • Search sees what a summary and transcript say now, including corrections you've made.
  • Text inside pictures isn't searched.
  • The folder overview page (select a folder) lists everything inside it and can be sorted; see The library.
